Moving at the Speed of Gratefulness
Join us Sunday, November 3rd 9:00–10:30 A.M. for a Thank You Potluck!
We are moving quickly toward the end of the outdoor season! Our last day outside at Andrew’s Greenhouse will be Tiffany Joseph’s class on Thursday, October 31st. We’ll start the very next day with Jen Vanderleeden’s class at the Munson Library. You can check who is teaching each day (same schedule as outdoors with the occasional substitute) at both the old and new websites.
We Achieved Our Goal!
Thank You Potluck: Sunday, November 3rd 9:00–10:30 A.M.
Thanks to this amazingly generous community, we’ve surpassed our original fundraising goal! With generous donations totaling over $4000, the indoor season is now secure. All of our start-up costs are covered, and we can cover the rental fee for daily yoga as well as continue to provide space for Tai chi and Qigong on Mondays and Saturdays (right after yoga 9:15–10:00 A.M.).
We’ll celebrate the change of seasons and our fundraising success with a Thank You Potluck on Sunday, November 3rd immediately after yoga (9:00-10:30 A.M.) at the Munson Library. Bring something to share or just bring beautiful yourself.
FINAL WEEK of the Silent Auction!
To further our ability to fund even more health-supporting offerings, we are extending the deadline for the Silent Auction through midnight on Saturday, November 2nd. Click below to bid on the many goods and services offered by our generous community. If every item or service goes for its starting bid, we can bring in almost another $1000.
Winning bidders will be notified by email. You don’t need to be present to win, but we’ll announce the winners (and distribute goods) at the potluck!
A Note About Moving Indoors
Last year, during the first weeks of our indoor season, Covid-19 made an appearance in our community. Hopefully, it won’t happen this year, but we want everyone to feel safe and protected so we will continue our mask-friendly policy. That is, wear a mask if you want to wear one. And feel free to forego the mask if that’s what you prefer. We refrain from commenting on anyone else’s choice in this regard. Here’s to a healthy winter season!
Your Support Is Always Welcome!
We’ve received donations totaling over $4000 from 45 generous community members. Thank you! We can’t do any of this without you. I’ve been sending thank yous and acknowledgement letters from our new email address: everydaywellbeing4u@gmail.com.
If you did not receive an acknowledgement search your spam folder for our email address and drag the email into your inbox, or right click on it and choose “not spam.” This will “teach” your email server that you value these communications, and they will show up in your primary inbox.
Another option is to add everydaywellbeing4u@gmail.com and yogaoutside@substack.com (the source of our newsletters) to your contacts list. This way you’ll never miss an update or an announcement.
Ways to Contribute
We appreciate every financial donation, but there are many ways to contribute to our community and to the wellbeing of every person involved. Research shows that the quality of close relationships are important, but that casual connections and acquaintances also contribute to our wellbeing.
Here are four ways that you can contribute:
1. Spread the Word
Share this newsletter with your friends and family (and acquaintances). We’d especially like to reach people in the BIPOC community, those prone to social isolation, and members of under-resourced communities. If you know a reporter at The Daily Hampshire Gazette, we’d love Everyday Wellbeing to be featured in the newspaper. Email us at everydaywellbeing4u@gmail.com and help us connect.
2. Offer Your Expertise
So many in our community have knowledge and experience with holistic practices that promote wellbeing. We are collecting proposals about what types of classes, workshops, and events you can offer.
3. Give Us Constructive Feedback
We’d love to know how we can improve our offerings. You can also submit anonymous feedback about our teachers and events.
4. Contribute Financially
Every donation (no matter the size) benefits our community and widens the possibilities of what we can offer. Please make a tax-deductible contribution in any of these ways:
a. By Check
You can drop a check made out to Everyday Wellbeing, Inc. in the donation box or by mail to Everyday Wellbeing at 5 Edgewood Terrace in Hadley, MA 01035.
b. Via Venmo
Search the Venmo app for @everydaywellbeingMA, or scan the QR code below.
c. Via PayPal
We are still working out the kinks here, but the link below will take you directly to our PayPal account.
Classes and Workshops
Maybe you know someone for whom yoga doesn’t quite work. Maybe they have arthritic knees, a cranky back, a mind and body that crave more movement. If so, spread the word about. . .
Qigong: Saturdays 9:15–10:00 A.M.
Qigong is a gentle, standing, ancient healing practice of slow movement, deep breathing, and self massage. It’s easier on the joints than many yoga postures and is especially gentle on the knees, wrists, and shoulders.
Tai Chi: Mondays 9:15–10:00 A.M.
Tai chi is an ancient Chinese martial art initially developed for self-defense. It has evolved into a gentle, low-impact series of deliberate, flowing motions that match the breath. Often referred to as "meditation in motion," tai chi provides benefits to mental and physical health by balancing the body's chi (vital energy).
Understanding Osteopenia & Osteoporosis with Dr. Amy Rothenberg
Licensed naturopathic doctor, Amy Rothenberg, will review the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis and share evidence-based integrative medicine approaches to build and maintain strong, healthy bones. Both events are free and open to all, but space is limited.
Monday, November 4th at 7:00 P.M.
Monday, November 11th at 1:00 P.M.
Talks will take place at Dr. Rothenberg’s office at 369 Pleasant Street in Northampton. The building is ADA accessible and there is ample free parking. Light snacks and drinks will be provided.
Congratulations!
