Yoga for Healthy Bones
We had a great response to Masha Leuner’s online program on Yoga for Osteoporosis on Monday, December 16th. Almost eighty people registered (so they could receive the recording), and 35 people attended the program live via Zoom. Masha shared a handout with detailed written instructions for 24 poses. You can access it below.
Good news: Masha will be back to host another online training (date still to be determined) to dive more fully into the postures recommended for those with osteoporosis, osteopenia, and those interested in preventing bone loss with aging.
If you are not yet on our list of those interested in bone health, you can add your name and contact information below.
Finally, Linda’s Sunday Yoga class (8-9 AM) is gradually becoming a Yoga for Bone Health Class with gentle warm-ups, back strengthening, and lots of bone-building standing and balancing postures. Join us!

January Qigong
In January we move our in-person Qigong classes to Saturdays. We got bumped out of our Sunday time slot and reserved as many Saturdays as we could 9:15-10:00 AM, but there is still a conflict on some Saturdays (due to a library program in the Main Hall). We’ve planned a Qigong Flash Mob at the Hampshire Mall. Join us between Planet Fitness and JC Penney for 45 minutues of public Qigong with Natalie Imbier. All Saturday Qigong meets 9:15-10:00 AM.

Restorative Candlelit Yoga with Tibetan Bowls
with Diana Peters-Ross and Liz Lacey
Tuesdays, January 21 - February 11, 2025
6 - 7 PM Munson Library 1046 South East Street, Amherst
Join Liz and Diana for a unique yoga experience of rest and relaxation. Practice restorative yoga while bathed in the healing sounds of Tibetan bowls to balance both sides of the brain and promote deep relaxation.
Restorative yoga is a gentle practice that offers numerous benefits for the body and mind. With longer-holding times in supported postures, participants experience deeper states of calm and tranquility. The slower pace invites mindfulness, soothes anxiety, improves sleep and circulation, and releases muscular tension.
Mats, blocks, and straps are available, but participants may want to bring some or all of the following comfort items: blanket, beach towel, pillow, cushion, bolster.
This program is offered freely and open to all. Since space is limited, please register below.

Building the Future of Everyday Wellbeing
We continue to lay the foundation to bring vibrant well-being to more people, in more ways, than ever before. We dream of scaling our vision to enable similar pockets of community connection and vibrant health in neighborhoods and towns across Hampshire County. We’re gathering an Advisory Board to up-level our fund-raising so we can hire an executive director to coordinate a growing number of classes, workshops, and events - all free and open to all.
We’d like to offer peer-led groups for men, women, writing, and book study. We want to offer peer and expert support for heathy aging, emotional eating, strength training, body image, nutrition, navgating perimenopause and menopause, and other areas of interest so we can gather to learn, discuss, evolve, and grow. Let us know what interests you. What would you like to see offered?
In the meantime, checkout our new (and improving) website.
An upcoming event directed by Roberta Uno and choreographed by Tiffany Joseph
