Yoga for Bone Health II with Masha Leuner
🗓 Monday, January 20
🕛 12:00–2:00 PM (Zoom)
We’re excited to host a second online training session with Masha Leuner (of Leuner Eclipse Yoga)! Based in Brookline, Masha is a yoga teacher specializing in practices for those with osteopenia and osteoporosis.
Masha trained with Dr. Loren Fishman, renowned author of Yoga for Osteoporosis and pioneer of groundbreaking research showing that a consistent daily yoga practice can improve bone density over time.
While virtual sessions may not be ideal, Zoom allows us to connect with Masha and access her deep expertise on this important topic at a fraction of the cost of in-person training.
During this training, Masha will:
Demonstrate the 24 postures proven to improve bone density.
Share modifications for students with low bone density.
Teach specific cues and techniques to encourage bone health.
This session is free to all, but we welcome donations to help cover Masha’s $200 fee and support our ongoing programs.
Additional Details:
The Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants by 10:00 AM on Monday, January 20.
Unable to join live or stay for the full session? No worries! A recording will be shared with all registrants.
👉 Register by Sunday, January 19 to secure your spot.
Restorative Candlelit Yoga with Tibetan Bowls
With Diana Peters-Ross and Liz Lacey
🗓 Tuesdays, January 21 - February 11
🕛 6:00 - 7:00 pm, Munson Library
Restorative yoga is a gentle practice that offers numerous benefits for the body and mind. By incorporating longer-holding times in supported postures, participants experience deeper states of calm and tranquility. The slower pace releases muscular tension, invites mindfulness, soothes anxiety, and improves sleep and circulation. The resonating vibrations of the Tibetan bowls balance both sides of the brain and promote deep relaxation.
Mats, blocks, and straps are available, but participants may want to bring some of all of the following comfort items: blanket, beach towel, pillow, cushion, bolster.
This program is offered freely and open to all. Space is limited, please register below.
Envisioning the Future of Everyday Wellbeing
🗓 Thursday, February 13
🕛 5:00 - 8:30 pm (including dinner), location TBD
We are at an exciting point in the development of Everyday Wellbeing and we want your input and help as we chart our course for the next 3–5 years.
We are hosting a Visioning Meeting, facilitated by non-profit leader Kristi Nelson, to collaboratively explore and outline our future, our purpose, our programming, and the resources needed to bring this vision to life.
Objectives for the Meeting:
Visioning: Collaboratively define the future of Everyday Wellbeing for the next 3–5 years.
Strategic Planning: Explore programming and initiatives aligned with our vision.
Resourcing: Identify the human, economic, and physical capital needed to sustain and grow our organization, including:
Human capital: How do we engage donors, program leaders, volunteers, and strategic partners?
Economic capital: How do we build financial sustainability?
Physical capital: What are our needs for space and equipment?
Board Development: Strategize ways to develop and cultivate relationships with potential board members to strengthen our leadership team.
Space is limited. If you are interested in joining us, please complete this form by January 25.
Calling Sewers and Crafters!
Thank you to everyone who has donated feed bags! We continue to collect them (as well as thin blankets in decent shape) to upcycle them into tote bags and base mats for outdoor yoga. If you’d like to join a sewing/work party to help with this process, please complete this short form so I can contact you with dates and times. Sometimes these work parties will be planned in advance, and sometimes they may happen spontaneously.
Want to Offer a Class, Workshop, or Presentation with Everyday Wellbeing?
Everything we offer is free and open to all. Donations are accepted, but never expected. If you have an area of expertise related to health and wellbeing (physical, emotional, social, emotional, and/or spiritual) we want to make it accessible to all.
There are many routes to well-rounded health and wellbeing.
